HOW DO I ENTER?

Go to the enter tab —  click on ENTER HERE at the top of this page.

I DON’T HAVE A CREDIT CARD TO ENTER ONLINE.

Email us for entry instructions.

WHEN IS THE LAST DAY TO ENTER?

Online entries close 10.00am Thursday 1 August 2019.

Late entries will be taken at registration on Friday 2 August and Saturday 3 August up until 15 minutes prior to the start of your event. Marathon entries will be accepted up to 7.00am on the day of the event.

CAN I CHANGE MY DETAILS?

To change personal or entry details email us or phone Marion 027 569 0302

CAN I WITHDRAW AND DO I GET A REFUND?

CAN I TRANSFER TO ANOTHER EVENT OR DISTANCE?

Yes if you inform us 7 days prior to the event.

Series entries ARE NOT transferable.

CAN MY PARTNER AND I ENTER AS A FAMILY?

No – the family entry has been set up to encourage Mum, Dad (or primary caregivers) and the children to get out and enjoy an active day together. The price is set up as an affordable way to make this happen for them, acknowledging the extra financial commitments that families with children face. Accordingly, this is not an entry option for just two adults.

 

 

 

 

Registration Information

 

CAN I PICK UP MY FRIENDS RACE NUMBER / CAN MY FRIEND PICK UP MY RACE NUMBER?

Yes — please ensure your friend knows you are collecting their number and you have made arrangements to meet up.

can i collect all the numbers for my group?

Yes you can.  For a large group please email so we can put all the numbers aside for you.

DO I NEED TO BRING MY CONFIRMATION OR REGISTRATION NUMBER?

No you just need to know how to spell your name. Your confirmation would be helpful in case there is as problem finding your registration.

 

WHEN ARE RACE NUMBERS SENT OUT?

Numbers are not sent out. All entrants must collect a race number and timing tag from event headquarters prior to starting.

HOW MUCH ARE THE EVENT SHIRTS?

MARMOT event shirts are $39.00 Be sure to pre order your shirt to avoid missing out. Limited numbers may be available for purchase at registration.

DO I GET A FINiSHERS MEDAL?

Finishers in all distance events will receive a medal.

 

CAN A TEAM DO A RELAY?

No, there are no team relay options for any distance.  The marathon course is now fully onroad so the Marathon of Two Halves is no longer an option.

 

CAN I ENTER EACH EVENT INDIVIDUALLY AND STILL QUALIFY FOR THE SERIES?

No you must complete a series entry to qualify.

 

 

 

Course Information

 

WHAT HYDRATION DO YOU SUPPLY?

The drink stations will have water and Nuun electrolyte. Replacement supplement and water at finish line.

 

WHAT DISTANCE MARKS ARE THERE?

Taupo Half Marathon 1km, 5km, 10km, 15km then every 1km to 20km

5km and 10km — there are no distance markers.

 

IS THE COURSE REALLY HILLY AND STEEP?

Marathon: the course is changing to a full on-road marathon details coming soon!

Half Marathon, 10k and 5k: The courses are basically flat with a couple of small rises

IS THE PATH VERY WIDE? I GENERALLY WALK WITH A FRIEND AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IN ADVANCE IF YOU COULDN’T WALK IN PAIRS.

It is preferred you are no more than 2 abreast to allow faster entrants to pass safely. The pathway from 5 Mile Bay to Wharewaka is narrow — single file along here is requested.

 

IS THERE A CUT OFF TIME?

The overall cut off time for Tongariro North Domain is 4.30pm. Click here to for aid station cut-off times.

 

 

 

 

General Information

 

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE?

The weather in Taupo in August can range from cold frosty, foggy mornings with blue sky days to a brisk southerly coming across the lake and rain.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

It is best to dress like an onion – wear layers to peel off as you warm up. Don’t forget your hat and gloves for those extra chilly mornings.

 

CAN I USE MY IPOD/MP3?

They are not banned however for safety reasons the use of iPods/MP3 players is not recommended.

CAN I PUSH A BUGGY?

The marathon course is not suitable for buggies. Buggies are allowed on the other courses.

 

CAN I NORDIC WALK?

Nordic walking is welcome. Please don’t use the poles on other entrants unless they are running walkers!

ARE THERE SHOWERS FOR AFTERWARDS?

Showers are located at the Super Loo adjacent to the Great Lake Centre at a cost $2.00.
