The start will be waved with runners starting at 9.00am and walkers following at approx 9.10am.
Start area - Redoubt Street by the tennis courts adjacent to Tongariro North Domain.
Please enter the start arena in the appropriate area for your estimated finishing time.
SAFETY BREIFING
The safety briefing will be given at the start line... all entrants must be present.
TIMINGThe event is timed by TimeIt.
Provisional results will be on the website after the event. Results will be finalized once all checks and queries have been dealt with. Please contact the event organizers with any queries.
CERTIFICATESCertificates will be available online for downloading once results have been finalised. To view your certificate click on the results link then search your name or number. Click on the certificate link on the right. A pdf will open, scroll down to view. The certificate can only be printed not saved. |

THE COURSE AND FIRST AID
A flat, scenic out-and-back loop course on the edge of Lake Taupo. Surfaces include highway, footpath, formed track and some firm farmland. The course will be marshalled and signed. All entrants must complete the same course.
The course is unsuitable for wheelchair users.
Drink stations will be positioned at approximately the 5, 9, 14 and 16km points.
First Aid will be available on the course by a roving St John team member.
No dogs on the course please! Supporters and spectators must not accompany runners and walkers at any stage during the event
FINISH
The finish line is on Tongariro North Domain adjacent to Great Lake Centre.
Water and replacement drink are available in the finish area.
First Aid Station will be provided at the finish line by St John Ambulance.
All finishers receive a chocolate fish (Taupo brown trout) on exiting the finish area.
Timing tags will be removed by marshall before exiting the finish area. Please ensure your tag is removed and placed in the bin to be eligible for the major prize draws.
RECOVERY
Massages will be available in the Great Lake Centre.
Hot soup and buns are available to all finishers in the Great Lake Centre. Other refreshments will also be available for purchase by the finish area.
Showers are in the Super Loo adjacent to the Great Lake Centre.
PRIZEGIVING
Prizegiving will be at 1.30pm on the Tongariro North Domain (rain or shine).
Major spot prizes will be drawn at random from finishers timing chips collected in the finish arena. You must be present with ID to claim a major spot prizes.
Major spot prizes include a House of Travel holiday, Freedom room makeover, Youth prize for the under 20yrs, Mizuno Most Visible Team prize and the Mizuno $500 Early Bird prize package (don't need to be present).
Only the first male and female to finish will be acknowledged. No age group or walker placings will be acknowledged or awarded.
