How can I change details?
Changes of event (run/walk) or personal information can be made online until online entries close. If someone else entered you that person needs to do the changes or email us with the details.
Can I withdraw and do I get a refund?
Withdrawals prior to online entries closing will receive a refund minus a $15.00 administration fee.
No refunds will be given for withdrawals once online entry is closed.
What will the weather be like?
The weather in Taupo in August can range from cold frosty, foggy mornings with blue sky days to a brisk southerly coming across the lake and rain. In 19 years we have not had snow.
Kinloch in September can have cold frosty mornings with blue sky days.
What should I wear?
It is best to wear layers to peel off as you warm up.
When are race packs sent out?
Packs and numbers are not sent out. All entrants must collect a registration pack with race number and timing tag from event headquarters prior to starting.

Half marathon packs need to be collected by 8.45am to allow time to get to the start line
Can I pick up my friends pack / Can my friend pick up my pack?
Yes
Do I need to bring my confirmation or registration number?
No you just need to know how to spell your name. Your confirmation would be helpful in case there is as problem finding your registration.
How much are the Event shirts?
$45.00 pre order your shirt to avoid missing out. Limited numbers will be available for purchase at registration.
Can I use my ipod/MP3?
They are not banned but for safety reasons the use of ipods/MP3 players are not recommended
Can I push a buggy?
Buggies are allowed for the Mizuno Half Marathon only. The off road courses are not suitable for buggies.
Can a team do a relay?
No - these are not relay events
When is last day to enter?
Mizuno Half Marathon online entries close midnight Wednesday 1 August 2012.
Late entries will be taken at registration on Saturday 4 August 2012 only
Mizuno Kinloch Offroad Challenge online entries close midnight Wednesday 29 August 2012.
Late entries will be taken at registration on Friday 31 August 2012 only.
How do I enter?
Go to the enter here tab for the event of interest - Enter online and receive a $5 discount or print off an entry form
I don't have a credit card to enter online.
Enter online and use the "Wire Transfer" payment option follow instructions to transfer funds via internet banking or post a cheque.
What hydration do you supply?
Water only at the aid stations. Replacement supplement and water at finish line.
Can I Nordic walk?
Nordic walking is welcome. Please don't use the poles on other entrants unless they are running walkers!
What distance marks are there?
Mizuno Half Marathon 1 k 5k 10k 15k then every 1k to 20k
Mizuno Off Road Half Marathon - every km
There are no marks for the Quarter Marathon
Is there showers afterwards?
Taupo -Showers are located at the Super Loo adjacent to the Great Lake Centre at a cost $2.00
Kinloch - there are no showering facilities. If you are brave enough try a dip in the lake.
Is the course really hilly and steep?
The offroad marathon and half marathon are quite hilly. Check the course profiles on the COURSE page
Should I be doing some serious hill training?
The offroad marathon and half marathon courses are hilly. Some off road hill training is recommended
Is the path very wide? I generally walk with a friend and would like to know in advance if you couldn't walk in pairs.
The off road courses are quite narrow you are asked to go in single file. There may be mountain bikers on the course as the track is not closed.
