TryTaupo4 is a new four event challenge which will be easy to train for with attainable distances for those wanting to get off the couch and get fit or those wanting to get back into sports.

Run or walk the Mount Tauhara 10k (July) or Mizuno Offroad Quarter Marathon (September)
Cycle one 40k leg of the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge (November)
Swim 300m - Cycle 9K - Run/Walk 3k of the Kinloch Triathlon (February)
Swim the 1km course of the Across the Lake Swim (February).
Enter each event individually, complete the challenge and receive a free t-shirt.

The Erin Baker Award was instituted in 1998 as an initiative from Taupo Sports Advisory Council to recognize athletes who have completed the four iconic Taupo annual events:
1 Tauhara Off-road Half Marathon (July), Mizuno Half Marathon (1st Sunday August) or Mizuno Off-road Half Marathon (1st Saturday September)
2 Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge (last Saturday November)
3 Taupo Triathlon (early February)
4 Across Lake Taupo Swim (last Saturday February)
The Cameron Brown Award includes the Erin Baker Award and the Taupo NZ Ironman (1st Saturday March).
The events must be accomplished in the order shown and all in the same season
A full completion of every event qualifies.
No entry procedure, simply tick the box on the Across The Lake Swim entry and your invitation to the Taupo district Sports Awards will follow once you completions have been verified. The Cameron Brown award will also be verified in the same manner.
The Sports Awards are held in early November in the same year as event completion.
